Texas made High Standard Victor in the mid 1990's. It could not get through a mag without several jams of various kind. I sent it, AND THE MAGS back to TX three times. It never worked. Even the gunsmiths/CS reps at High Standard admitted they sucked. I traded it to a friend of mine that wanted a project gun, and was convinced it would someday be a valuable collector's item.

I see your Hesse hr15, and raise you a Hesse fal.

I didn't own it, but a friend had two. Cast receiver, mold is off, top of the magwell is too low, so it won't feed for shit.
Milled out the top of the magwell deeper to raise the magazine, and built up the mag catch to hold the mag higher. Couldn't really do much with the front, but, it fed consistently.
    Receiver steel was buttery soft.
Told the guy he should sell them while they still worked.

    Personal owned biggest pos?
Amt backup 45acp. Got one, took it to the range. Trigger pull took two men and a boy to shoot it. Needless to say, marginally accurate for about 1-2rds before your finger was tired. Of course, it quit firing completely before the first 50rd box was finished. Dropped the hammer on one round I know 10 times, never did go off.
Got it fixed, almost finished a box before it stopped firing.
Got it fixed again, made it to about 75rds and stopped firing.
Fixed it one more time, fired 2 mags (10rds), and sold it.

Had a rossi revolver completely lock up after about 25rds, at the range. Couldn't even open it to get the last few loaded rds out.
Spring came partially out of the cylinder release. Fixed it, sold it.

My lower receiver broke in two. Best thing it ever did for me.

    Walther PPX, or 'der Jam-meister'.....
Fascinatingly hideous and fantastically unreliable. It would double feed so reliable i used it for failure drills.
Seems to be a known issue with this model, made me wonder what they were putting in their sauerkraut und bratwurst.
    Per Ardua ad Astra.
STS - gone but not forgotten.

Hope you didn't get hurt. The fal receiver is under full chamber pressure from the barrel threads back to the headspace shoulder that crosses right behind the magwell.
