Makes me wonder if S&W is planning a re-design of the mags... I've been seeing a lot of cheap sales on existing mags for the Shield. Looks like a massive inventory dump. Maybe they will re-engineer that POS sliding sleeve on the 8-rounder...

They were also blowing out the shield itself with the rebates. I think there is a complete redesign coming.
I have no issues with the current shield nor mags so score for me!!

I may have to get a third shield before the redesign... You know, back up gun for the backup gun.

I think I'm going to need to replace one of mine. My newly minted college student daughter has latched onto it, hard.
I'll wait to see what improvements the next generation (of pistols) presents.

Or, spend a hair more and pick up a Gen-1 Performance Center model. My P-C Shield 9 is the second best shooting auto that I have. It's amazing. A tack driver right out of the box. The ported barrel takes most of the snap out of the recoil. I've shot it in low light, and the flash is totally manageable.

Hmmm, might be interesting. I've never had a ported pistol. Guess I'll have to find one to try out.
