I did not know the man quoted above, and joined this Forum after his passing. He seemed to be a leader of men; both spiritually and physically. Someone we'd all be proud to emulate.
Not saying you're incorrect, but all my GDSPs are 62gr. I am almost positive they discontinued the 64gr (even in .223).IIRC, Speer simply stopped producing 5.56 and replaced it with .223 pressure loadings. The weights (55, 64, and 75) all remained the same.
I did come across this...

I'm due to get my TBBC rounds in this week. I also have Hornady Tap 2. Which out of these 2 rounds would you guys use for home defense? For outside I'm thinking TBBC. My Hornady Tap 2 is already loaded in my 30 and 40 round mags. I live in a bad city where there are drug crazed people. My Glock 22, AK74 and bolt action rifle are all my 2nd and 3rd options. I prefer the AR15 for home defense. I'm thinking also about adding a green laser to the AR but don't want to increase the weight of the gun too much. Bone Frog Gun Club is Awesome!

64 GDSPs are still available in the pipeline. #24448 is still pretty plentiful, #24447 (brass cased) has dried up.
62 GDSPs are plentiful, #24445SP. I have found that the 62 is better regulated to other premium and economy 62gr loadings than the 64.

I got my TBBC rounds in yesterday. I don't load green tips or xm193 in my home defense mags. I load Hornady Tap 2 in 5.56 which is suppose to be the best 5.56 round for unobstructed shots. I also loaded 2 30 round mags with the TBBC soft points in my back up mags. I decided to stay with Tap 2 for the first mag. I got the TBBC rounds for $1 a bullet which is cheap compared to other place's that sell it. Now looking to buy training ammo.
