    30% Off Until August 28th

Mods, if this is not appropriate please delete.

I have no connection with the company other than as a satisfied customer.

Green Mountain Barrels is having a 30% off 'Boss' Birthday Bonanza' from today until next Monday, August 28th.

    http://www.gmriflebarrel.com/

Like most barrel makers, Green Mountain supplies barrels to several manufacturers, among them Sig and Bravo, according to the man I talked to this morning.

I have purchased numerous barrels from them and have been well satisfied with price and performance.

May just pick up an extra barrel, especially at a bit of discount, always good to have a spare...or two :-)

Interesting, they make a 20" , 1:14 twist barrel. This is the original M16A1 barrel and what made the 55 grain round much more effective.

I think flenna is referring to the myth that 1:12 twist decreased wounds by making the bullet "too stable." Someone did the math & demonstrated that isn't true, but the myth carries forward, like my favorite urban legend--the 5.56 tumbles in flight.

Their 10-22 22LR barrels are tack drivers, or I should say the two I own are. However I know nothing of their AR gear but am about to find out, thanks for the heads up.

    Their selection looks quite...dated.

I believe in the AR barrels they are primarily a supplier to other manufacturers, rather than sales to individuals. I would guess that is why their selection is not as broad as, say Ballistic Advantage.

    I'm just guessing.
