Back in the day before the price increases I would buy various premium types of 223 rem. At age 60 I have enough for myself & wife to shoot all we want for many years to come.

I normally look between sgammo.com, aimsurplus.com, and Palmetto State Armory. Another good place is natchez shooting supply but since they are in TN, with tax they are always higher than the first three.

Palmetto state armory typically has Speer gold dot 64gr for 9.99 a box. That's pretty unbeatable for high quality defense ammo.

SGammo usually but I just had a really awesome experience with freedom munitions. Ran through 2k of 9mm and 1k of 5.56 in 4 days of shooting with outstanding results. It was all remanufactured ammo being run through bcm rifles and glock 19s. Out of the 3k rounds I had 1 9mm malfunction that I'm almost certain was magazine induced. It was on a filthy magpul g17 pmag that had seen close to 500 rounds before that. If anyone's on the fence I'd say give em a shot.
