Sig Pistol Ammo?
I was at Bass Pro Shop killing time and I saw some 357 Sig. ammo. They had some Hornady Flex Tip or Flex Lock stuff and Sig Elite Performance V-Crown 125 gr. ammo. So I grabbed a box of the Sig ammo. Anyone know anything about this Sig ammo?
I've switched to my 9mm Glock's for my carry guns. However I really like my G22, especially with my G31 barrel in it. I use it for my HD back up gun to my AR/M4. It's full size and has a light on it and is extremely accurate. I usually have my buddy order me Gold Dot's or HST's. I won't see him for another month or so.
Thanks, NYH1.

I have heard nothing but good words on it. I believe it is similar to the Speer concept of Gold Dots and Lawman ammo, where both are high end, just JHP's or FMJ's, but ballistically similar.
I plan on trying some when I can find it on sale at a good price...

I've found the +p 9mm JHP to be pretty good stuff, accurate and snappy. Nothing scientific though in terms of measurables. I can tell you the FMJ 10mm is lightly loaded compared to my own handloads.

I've seen no ballistic gel testing on the SIG ammo, so it's unclear if the ammo meets any recognized standards for expansion and penetration. On ammoseek.com, the cheapest price for the SIG 9mm HP stuff is over 50 cents per rd. You can get HST, which is a rd proven in both street results and ballistics gel testing, for less than 40 cents a rd. So why bother with the SIG?

Not sure if they are still making it up the road from me or not, but have seen some recovered bullets from when they were and it opens up like shown on the box.
