Starting a 6.5 Grendel build.

Still waiting on the barrel/6.5 bolt/Sionics BCG/Mags and ammo.

Decided since I was waiting anyways to order a couple more parts. Ordered an SLR Sentry 7 adjustable gas block, I'm not sure it's going to fit under my handrail but now I'll know. I might suppress this rifle down the road so I want to be able to adjust if I need to.

Also decided to ditch the Burris PEPR for now and got an ADM Recon 20 MOE 30mm scope mount, soon I'll upgrade my scope as well and the burris will go back with my Vortex viper.

Next group of parts.

Sionics NP3 coated BC and cam pin plus the firing pin and retaining pin, this will be used with my 6.5 bolt that is coming with the barrel. I picked up the other sionics BCG because they had a great sale price and I'll have it for the next build.

The SLR Sentry 7 adjustable gas block, you can see beside the Noveske low profile that their about the same size so it should fit under my hand guard.

100 rds or Hornady ammo

The hogue grip, not sure I'm going to use it on this build. Doesn't quite have the feel I thought it would so I'm sticking with the BCM grip that came with the LPK.

Last some extra BCM panels for the keymod handrail, really love these things!

Waiting on the Elander mags, barrel w/bolt and the new ADM scope mount, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

There was a group buy on the 6.5 forums for a 20" Faxon barrel, 416R stainless with QPQ melonite 1:8, 5R-EE, button-rifled.

These barrels are still in production at Faxon and should be ready any time now, I have everything else for the build so once the barrel and bolt get here I'll be ready to assemble and shoot.

My three AA 6.5 17rd Elander mags arrived. I also received my SLR dimple jig so I can dimple the barrel for the gas block when it gets here.

Since I'm still waiting on the barrel I decided to order a new muzzle device instead of using the BCM comp that I removed from my 300 blk, I decided on a VG6 Precision GAMMA 65 made for the 6.5 rifles.

Also, I ordered a custom dust cover that will have 6.5 and Grendel engraved on the inside. Not sure about this, but it was cheap and I'll decide if I'm going to install it after it gets here.

The last purchase will be a new scope for next month, still undecided on which one I want.

I had a weaver 4-20x50 on mine but that's on my Creedmoor now. I put a Bushnell Elite Tactical 10x on it now. So far so good.

I had a weaver 4-20x50 on mine but that's on my Creedmoor now. I put a Bushnell Elite Tactical 10x on it now. So far so good.

I currently have a vortex viper 6.5x20-44mm but I'm wanting a little cleaner gas, I go to the range a lot so I might as well have a good scope to make my time there the best it can be.

Still researching the Vortex Razor HD Gen I and II, with the military discount through vortex I can get a new razor cheaper than what people are trying to sell used ones. I know there are better scope out there but the discount is putting these scopes in my price range.

Yeah, a friend of mine was looking at the same thing because of his military discount. Almost to good to pass.
