Partly sarcastic, I bought it with some bonus money I had laying around. I let my wife throw it on yesterday and then told her thats what $5k feels like, she wasnt amused.

Haha. I bet. My wife cringes when I tell her how much my helmet setup is worth.

I bought almost everything used though, so I saved a fortune.

Actually, the OP should consider buying used if money is an issue. Lots of great deals out there.

If I was actually able to use it, I'd probably by the Gentex high cut ACH/Ops Core hybrid that's about $60".

They're very nice for the money. I got mine recently and plan to rig it up with TW padding/chinstrap.

Hard Head Veterans ATE helmet with Team Wendy CamFit System and 4D standard pads.

I’d get the Gentex at minimum if going ballistic like Wake suggested.

TW did a July 04 sale for 20% off, do they do that regularly?

Be nice to pick up the new 2.0 at 20% off, wonder if the eye protection inhibits anything (cheekweld, etc).
