Anybody drop some Dove on the Sept early hunt?

Arizona has a 15 day hunt starting Sept1- 15th. I went out first day and the birds were not flying, I knocked down two but hardly a great start. Next day I went to a different spot, got 10 and had a blast. I used my 20g Browning OU 725 Field. Love that gun. The Browning fit me better than most.

I might try my Benelli SBEII next outing to mix up the fun

Last Sat was dove opener here in VA. Rained all day and foggy. My bud and I still hunted, he got two and I got one using my Remington 870Super Magnum. Also around here no cut crop fields yet so we hunted roosts by each taking turns flushing them from roost and brush. I never worked so hard for such a small set of breasts in my life, lol.

Yeah. One. One single damn dove. Went Saturday and Monday with my dad to two different WMA fields. Saturday we even drove 2 hours to the MS delta and didn't have any luck. But it was the most time I have spent with him or talked to him in probably 12-15 years. That was worth it.

I got to go one evening and we didn't hunt too hard. Didn't shoot any, was late before we had any fly-bys and it's not worth cleaning and cooking onesies and twosies. Maybe next weekend I'll get another shot. The corn is being cut right now.

Time well spent, next time you may get both! Time with POPS and Dovie's.

LOL, good one. I meant hunting for "the one damn dove" for seven hours. Still it was a good hunt as we had a good time.

Two more today. Again they flush in onesies and twosies. At this rate I might have enough meat for a sandwich by the end of dove season, lol.

I wish it was going better for you City Rat, I nailed about 10 today. Keep in mind I took 4,000 shots. I seem to think a shotgun is a 1,000 yard rifle, LOL! I seriously shot so poorly today, birds were coasting by at 15mph and I would pump 3 rounds and they wouldn't even scatter. NO THREAT. I thought , Jesus, am I firing blanks??? I missed one sitting still at 20 yards, I shit you not, I just laughed. My last outing I was on fire, but today, no no no.

    It was still big fun.

You are correct sir. It was some good time together for us. And that's what it's all about for me. The anti's don't get that. It's not the killing and shooting but the togetherness.
