Talked to a club member, walked away with a 44 Magnum

I met a nice retired gentleman at the range. He saw my 44 Magnum, and said, "I can't hold mine very long anymore."

My friend said, "Well this guy loves to shoot these kind of guns."

"I can give you a great deal on one if you're interested."

    "Absolutely. What model?"

"It's a Ruger with a long long barrel."

I met up with him today. Needless to say, I came home with the longest 44 Magnum in my armory. 9.5" Ruger Super Redhawk 44 Magnum. 58 oz.

I only put 6 rounds through it since it was raining, and I don't like scopes on my revolvers. It felt like a 38+P.

    Here it is....

Indeed. And at 58 ounces he can probably use it later in the year as a club for primitive hunting.

Anyway, nice addition to the stable.

    Exactly.

I have a 44 with open sights and one with a red dot. I think I'll actually keep the scope on it. At least the scope concept. I'll look for a scope with a longer eye relief and maybe wider objective.

These are my hunting revolvers in 44, 454, 460 and 500.

I added a spare red dot onto my latest acquisition, a Ruger Super Redhawk 44 Magnum.

That is a nice collection. I'd love to step up to a wheel gun bigger than .357 but the tc contender in 375 win. Fills that role and I need optics more than I need a 500 Mag.
