? on Springfield Range Officer Sights

Couldn't pass up a deal on a forum classified section on a Springfield Range Officer 9MM. The sights are advertised as "match sights", but I find it VERY difficult to isolate the front plain black serrated dovetail sight.

Wonder why they didn't opt for fiber optic sights, at least for the front.

    Any recommendations?

    Thanks

You're asking for recommendations for better sights? If so, I'm a huge fan of the Wilson/Vickers combo.

You inquired about a FO front sight for your Springfield RO.

The Dawson link is the proper dovetail for your RO- you plug in the height.

Your gun has adj. rear, what is current FS height- and with your ammo, is there a minor, moderate or huge gap between rear sight blade and slide dovetail?
A new FS is your opportunity to "fine tune" the height to your ammo.

FWIW- my preference is the rear sight being no more than 6 to 10 clicks "up", from being bottomed out.
It annoys me no end to have a rear sight having to be cranked way up, with a large gap between rear sight blade and slide.
But then I'm anal as hell with my equipment....

That's a nice combo but it will not work with the gun in question.

When I had a Springfield RO, we replaced the factory rear sight with a Harrison Hard Use sight made for the Springfield adjustable rear dovetail and the front with Dawson fiber:

    I know that gun!
Let those who are fond of blaming and finding fault, while they sit safely at home, ask, ‘Why did you not do thus and so?’I wish they were on this voyage; I well believe that another voyage of a different kind awaits them.”

Forgot that the regular RO came with an adjustable rear, good call.
