Return of the Mossie Tactics Midnight Mount

If you are an old timer on M4C you may remember the Mossie Tactics Midnight Mount. It essentially mounts to the front of the FSB with a Picatinny section that extend outwards towards the muzzle. It will then allow you to mount a Surefire X-series light or the Streamlight TLR series lights at 12 o'clock without any modification. It allows for ambidextrous use of the light and reduces shadowing from the barrel and FSB.

Initial units were made and sold by Battle Comp Enterprises. These new units will be made by another recognized company.

The introduction of the Magpul MOE SL handguard has complemented the mount and with it's wrap around design it helps even more to reduce potential for heat transference to the hand. An obvious benefit is simple and easy mounting with nothing more than a hex wrench, no modification to the weapon and no need for the use of a rail.

It is anticipated that they will be ready to ship within the next 30-45 days as units are already in production.

A few more things. These are not designed for prolonged magazine dumps while storming ISIS strongholds. It is designed first and foremost for LE and civilians with rifles and carbines that have an FSB and where a modification is not allowed (per policy) or due to cost.

There is going to be a version 2 coming which will allow other lights such as the Surefire Scout series and Streamlight ProTac series lights to be used. I will post up some stuff about that mount later as well as potentially dates of availability.

Awesome! I had one years ago and stupidly sold it with the rifle it was mounted to. I'm a huge fan of the SL handguard and agree that the mount would be a perfect complement to it. I will definitely be picking one up.

My first 3 ARs had FSBs and these MMMs were great with X300s. Didn't realize they stopped selling them.

Wasn't a member named Buck involved?

Thanks for the heads up, father-in-law could use one for his BCM 11.5" with an FSB.

Not sure when that was patented, but the Mossie Mount is already close to 5 years old, if not a little older.

If you are storming ISIS strongholds and doing crazy mag dumps, then this isn't for you.

Long story short. Yes, a former M4C member designed and patented the mount, and it was produced and sold mostly by BCE. The downside is that someone has to front money for material, machine time, etc.. Now there is a different arrangement in place which will ensure a steady supply as needed.

I seriously missed these. Been recommending them to LEOs and shooters, until I recently found out that they were discontinued. I recently had to recommend the similar, but nowhere near as good, KleyZion offering to someone instead.
    This is great news.

Thanks for posting this, I've been anxiously awaiting them to return to available status. I've got one, want another one plus one for my daughters carbine. They are a perfect rail/mount to use with Magpul's SL handguard.

I was disappointed that the Midnight Mount had been discontinued. Very happy to see it make it's way back onto the market.

This is a great mount for LE and home defense. Light location and ambidextrous capability make it a winner.

The big difference is the Mossie places the light (or other accessory) at 12 o'clock keeping the carbine nice and slim and is ambidextrous to boot. You're right though there are far better option for hard military use but for LE or the home defender it a great, inexpensive little mount.
