I'm sure it's probably solid. But, that's a long ways away (price and installation) from the MM.

Ned @Michiguns makes one that is semi-permanently attached to the FSB, he calls it the ILM - Ideal Light Mount. Unfortunately the upper that I'm looking to mount the light to didn't cost much more than the mount itself.

I'll get another one or 2. Like many I sold mine, thought I'd go strictly long rails for a time but over the years I've gravitated toward some with BUIS and a few with a FSB. For me my 2 favorite light mounts were both discontinued. The Mossie and one I bought for a Mini Scout years ago from a member that was selling from Lightfighter. It mounted on the top rail and placed the Scout at 10 or 2 and was very small and light.

Perfect for a 16" Sionics middy FSB upper that's a glutton for punishment.

Wasn't this one was it? The name has changed but this was designed by a guy on LF

Do you wear a welding glove on the left hand when you train with it?

I shoot at night quite a bit and that setup looks less than optimal. Less than useful actually.

I have a couple and they have been 100% rock solid. 2 on FSB and at least 1 or 2 on Troy sights as well.

Any potential concerns from mounting one of these on a 10.3" if I have a blast-can like a BFD, Fortis Control or Flaming Pig? My CASV precludes FSB-side rails, and I was just thinking if it could handle muzzle blast one of these with my low-power red "navigation" flashlight on it might let me use the slant-rail and a tail-switch for a brighter white "blinder."

I suggest you don't purchase it then.
