I bought a Noveske marked dust cover once thinking it would look good with my mostly Noveske build. As soon as it arrived and I held it up to the ejection port I immediately said nope. Never had a desire for one after that.

    But it makes me laugh......

On a more serious, less immature note, I think the idea has merit on 6.5, 6.8, 300 rifles.

I'm not much on slogans and such, but I do have an engraved port door cover on my .300 AAC Blackout SBR upper.

Though it's purposely built in gray where all my other AR 15's are FDE, OD green, folage green.

Gray is the color for .300 AAC Blackout, and to make double sure. It has an engraved port door cover that say.
"Caution! .300 AAC Blackout" it's extra insurance.

Its your gun and your dust cover. I want to see make "America great again" then I might indulge.

But your description sounds like it has a purpose so, if it helps keep wrong ammo out of the gun, it's good.

"Infidel" "badass" "surprise cock-fag" punisher skulls... no.
    Not even ever.

I like them, and have them on 3 of my 5 ARs:
Pennsylvania State seal - work rifle
US and Gadsden flags - home rifle
Join or Die flag - wife's rifle

I wanted to put a USMC one on my M&P10, but I'd have to remove the rail to install it, and it's just not worth it.

    Engraved dust covers?

A couple of years ago bought an upper that was on a really good sale and it came with a "piratey" e- port over that said, "Arrrgghh" and skull and crossed swords. That came off and it's sat in the bottom of my bin for ejection ports and at no time have I held it up to say, "Ya know this e-port cover would look good on..."
I haven't even considered it for the PIF.

Pirates are cool, but they don't belong on my weapons.

I agree with Duffy. Get some airplane model enamel paint, or some kind pen and mark it.

The M&P10 is different. It doesn't work that way, the pin has no C-Clip, and doesn't go through. It only comes out from the front.
