    Forced to buy NFA....

    Sounds so horrible huh

Long story short: Left my old agency last month and joined a new, very progressive PD this month. Day 2 of my employment, they roll out a new policy ONLY allowing suppressed SBR's (so much for the new 6920 I bought). Due to a hearing loss incident from a previous shooting involving rifles, they have called it a risk management and health issue and got the city on board with purchasing FN SBR's and Sig Suppressors for each car (we rotate cars, no take homes). Now, we all need to use the guns in the trucks until we have our own Suppressed SBRs. I am not hot on sharing a rifle, as I like to know that its zeroed and maintained by me and no one else.

    UPDATED: So, here's my plan:

    Colt 6933

    Surefire SOCOM 556 RC2

Does this seem like a solid plan for a gun that will be run suppressed all the time? What changes will I need to make to the 6933 to make it more reliable, if any?

Also, my criteria has nothing to do with sound suppression. Only with what will run reliably for a very long time.

Is the mk18 the only DD offer you are considering? They have 2 different 11.5in sbrs in the m4v4s (quad) and m4v7s (mlok)

I wasnt aware. I think the M4V4 might be a better option than the MK18 as I will know for sure that a can will fit.

I don't think the titanium SRD is rated for SBRs, is it?

The Sig web site isn't specific, but silencer shop says 16" on their site.

No KAC, eh? If I could write it off as a work expense, I’d get the 11.5 KAC with their CQB can.

In my lack of can knowledge, I assumed Ti was the strongest material for them. I was wrong, again.

KAC begins to break the budget too much.

Look at the Colt 6945 before making a final decision.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

    Chuck, we miss ya man.
