Another is using our CustomTune gas port in the FSB.

Both of these options correctly address the gas port size, which you'll want to do for best reliability and function of your dedicated suppressed SBR.

This will also eliminate the need for special buffers, springs, carriers and charging handles, which are often recommended and tried in an attempt to compensate for severe over gassing.
So are you saying 6933s and 6945s don't have correct spec gas ports? I haven't had any issues, not even when running suppressed.

For occasional use with a silencer, no they are not "wrong". For dedicated suppressed use a smaller port runs so much more "right" it's hard to accurately describe.

Smooth, no harsh recoil, less gas blowback. But you almost need to shoot one to really appreciate how much of a difference it makes.

    Correct

This is why the OPs department is making a mistake.

These guns are not designed to be shot suppressed all the time.

Wheither anyone likes it or not, the rifle is less reliable when shot suppressed.

Switching back and forth between full power 5.56 and commercial .223 while suppressed also exacerbates this problem.

New to the game but I am running adjustable gas blocks. Seems a lot easier.

I have not paid for it and am now looking into Silencerco to see what I can find out.

This is something I am also looking into, possibly just buying a Noveske switchcblock and barrel and basing an SBR on that.

I've been running a BCM 11.5 SBR for a few years 100% suppressed. Instead of an adjustable gas black, I use a Gemtech SBC (previously also used a LMT E carrier), and use the Vltor A5 with a H4 buffer. Blowback had been an issue on my 14.5 with my AAC cans, so I got a Gen I SOCOM and couldn't be happier. Has almost zero gas to the face, very low muzzle flash, and minimal POI shift.

When I got my Omega I was running a Spikes pistol buffer that I won off a prize table at a match. It has a 11.5 inch barrel. It ran find until the buffer stuck in the back of the extension tube with the spring collapsed. Had to hit it with a rubber mallet to get it free. Then I put on a rifle stock and buffer. Gun ran but ejection was very forward. I decided to get an adjustable gas block. I installed it and tuned it so it locks open and ejects to the side with the can on. With the can off it won't lock open. But I don't plan on running it with the can off unless its an emergency. This is my work rifle now. IMG_2769.jpg

Definitely an option, and better than adjustable in my opinion. I question the materials and design's ability to resist erosion over time with most adjustable gas blocks. Plus you need to adjust it to the proper amount of gas.

The SB or cut down barrel will run without needing any adjustment.

And again this is for a "better" option. You can run the 6933 while you decide if and what you want to do.
