Trying to decide whether to blow my piled-up $100 in free stuff knocking down the price on that Lasermax rifle kit I've been looking at, or burn it on the ACO, then roll the 1-point-per-dollar kickback (100 pts = $10 off, so the Aimpoint would yield about $30 back) plus some more review-farming into the laser.

OTOH, I have a range-ready pistol/other-firearm-not-SBR whatever-it-is-depending-on-OAL (Do I measure to muzzle crown, or tip of un-pinned brake?) as soon as the URG gets back from the smith's shop, so the folder to make it Briefcase Ready and the optic are just luxuries anyway--and for learning the ins and outs I'm thinking it might be better to start with iron sights only, then add laser and RDS later.

EDIT: if anyone checks these guys out and wants to give a "hat tip," my referral link is http://i.refs.cc/ov8iWvDx--full disclosure, I do get a rewards-point kickback worth about $7.50 for each person who uses my referral link, if you're feeling less generous the direct link is www.1800gunsandammo.com.

If it's permanently attached I'd drop close the action and drop a cleaning rod down the bbl and measure to the tip of the muzzle device. That's your bbl length.

Thanks, but bbl is a known factor--under Federal law it's the same "Other Firearm" class as TAC-14 and Mossberg Shockwave, but WA so far as I can tell only defines pistol as "under 16-inch barrel, or designed to be fired with only one hand." Overall length is 27.75" RE-end-to-brake-end, 25.925 to crown; the irony is that pistolizing and de-NFA-ing the Mk 18 design is making it bigger than the parent rifle. lol

NP, amigo, don't mean to jump down your throat--was just commenting on the quirks of Federal vs. State. (All *I* care about is "is it legal by the barest of margins and eligible for loaded Briefcase/Vehicle Carry under a CPL;" the 'crats can call it a frickin' pink unicorn for all I care as long as my goal is met.)

Bump to note that for those into prism-scopes, Cabela's has the old Vortex Spitfire 1x for $150 shipped (plus tax) with code 7TREAT (free ship over $99). Is this Good2Go for a cruiser/briefcase/Bump In Night gun, or should I keep building the warchest since my most likely oppo are home invader or Active Shooter rather than Trained Enemy Combatant?

Edit: Never mind, just found out prism-scopes don't do co-witness. Keep skimmin' off the stipend and grinding out $10 reviews for an Aimpoint it is...
