I think most of us have been supportive, sympathetic to the workers, and a bit surprised.

And also, disappointed as I see business decisions that raise some questions. My view, either they their eye off the ball, ignored market trends, or was banking on something that did not come through. We'll probably never know. If it's the latter, then they adjust and move on. If they don't, then it makes you suspect it was one of the former.

It's hard not to comment when a company has reduced sales, yet you and others have been trying to buy things from them that they made a conscious business decision not to offer recently.

It's easy to MMQB, certain things I scratched my head when they did it, and now feel it had a big part.

I hope they survive, refocus, and I'll continue to use some of their components even if their complete offerings are rarely of interest to me.

I want DD to succeed. I would love to own a DD rifle, but they are priced too high for the features they offer. I would love to buy an RIS II But they don’t manufacture them. I would love to give them lots of my money but they don’t provide product differentiation to command the prices they demand.

Oh, and plus +1 to whoever said the used market is out of control. $525 for a used Colt OEM1 upper? LOL. I paid < $700 OTD for an entire, new, Colt OEM1 9 months ago. People are cray.

Stickman posted the price breakdown for chop-shopping a 6920 in another thread... a $700 rifle easily becomes 2-3x that in disassembled and sold-separately parts, so no wonder there's a growing industry for it.

Just a little side note because a few have mentioned it. Set your settings to 40 posts a page. Long threads like this will be easier to read/follow. This thread just turned 11 pages for me. A lot easier to follow.

I've ignored this thread because I wanted it to die, I didn't read it and didn't post because I didn't want to be a part of keeping it going.. I think it is bad for DD, obviously, and more importantly bad for the industry as a whole, to keep rehashing it.

I finally got on it, thinking it would be two pages long, to suggest that we let it fizzle, thus, perhaps, not being active participants in their hard times, whatever the cause.

Jeeziz, 40 pages, and much of it is anti-DD. It's like walking down the street with your pals, having a great time, next thing you know, you bump your head on a street sign, your buds see a trickle of blood, and commence to eating you!

Nope I did not read all 40 pages, maybe later. But my every dealing and indirect experience with DD has been positive: smart people, straight deals, good products, to include being part of a test panel for an outfit that bought a fleet of 50 guns.

The non-stop dog pile on the first couple of pages from a forum who just several years ago lauded the quality of DD when LAV was a spokesman. Not to mention the constant price comparison between DD 5.56's and KAC SR-15s.

How many bitching in this thread even own a DD rifle?
