BUIS for Steyr AUG?

Just installed the longer extended rail on my A3 m1. Now I'm looking to put on a quality set of BUIS.

Preferably something lower than typical sights made for the AR FOW.

There are only two options that I see.

HK sights are $$$, and troy micro sights are made by troy (I prefer to not buy their stuff).

Any others?

And if I did buy the HK sights for the 416/417, which rear sight should I go with? The ones for 10" barrels or 14.5-16"?

I think you will be disappointed with the very short sight radius. Personally I wouldn't add buis to the AUG.

There's 10+ inches of rail and a carbine without BUIS kinda bugs me. I guess it will probably be less than ideal, with less sight radius than an AK.

I tried BUIS on my A3 with standard long A3 rail (which I believe is longer than the current M1 long rail) and was disappointed with the short sight radius. It's not worth it IMO. A better option is the 3x M1 optic with a RMR or T1/T2 on top.

All I have on mine right now is the Troy micro H&K height sights. And it's still awesome. They provide a good cheek weld and are the proper height. But if someone wants to buy me a T2 to replace them I wouldn't complain.

Were hitting pie plates at 50yards still doable with them? I'm not really looking for super precision.

You need only an RDS but if you are gonna buis an AUG just get magpuls.

It will literally be like pistol radius so go cheap. I wouldnt bother with metal. esp not HK sights

I have an old EOtech on mine and when/if it croaks; I am plopping on an RMR and calling it good.

The original AUG BUIS were pretty crude blade sights anyways.

ETA OR......get a 1.5x ACOG and like never fret again

I've had Magpul BUIS on my A3 for years and they work fine.

Prob can make 50yd hits. I can do that with the even shorter radius back up irons on my A2 optic housing.
