Preferred Brands of 45 ACP for practice? experience with S&B and Magtech?

I have shot much Federal AE and WW 230 grain 45 ACP; don't know much about Magtech and Sellier and Bellot. Have you shot their 45 ACP? What about their velocity and reliability?

This is admittedly very old data, but fifteen years ago when I was in college, S&B was all my usual range would sell for on-range use--and if you were renting irons you had to buy their ammo, too, not even the Hydra-Shoks or Speer Lawman off the shelf, it *had* to be the S&B from behind the counter. They tended to be grudging about letting you do reliability testing with JHP's in your own gun on their line too... (which may have been pushing the new-guy college-boy around, a lot of things loosened up when several LEO regulars took me under their collective wing and had me start shooting with them rather than having to share the other end of the range with Bubba Butthead & Co.)

Can't speak for velocity, but can't recall any ever failing to go bang when the hammer dropped. That *was* a decade and a half ago, though, and my memory has shown signs of not being what it used to be, so take this with a grain of salt.

    I've shot many k's rounds of s&b
    In 9&223
    Not one failure
    They're not powder puff rounds
I think the 45 will perform similar

I did some research on magtech and recently ordered those
    Reports said it's gtg

    Good information here
Winchester white box is one of the dirtiest I've ever used

I've shot a few thousand rounds of 45auto through 6-7 of my 1911s and my go to is magtech. I find it cleaner then remington umc, winchester white box, and most other off the shelf plinking ammo, Plus its reasonable priced.

IIRC the S&B was one of the harder kicking FMJ rounds in my S&W Shield .45 experience earlier this year.
    I don't think I've used the magtech in .45.

I've shot a good bit of S&B over the years. It's all been good. My only complaint is that the 9mm and 40S&W primer pockets are kind of tight, so I have to use Remington primers when reloading S&B small pistol primer cases.

I just started using Magtech in 9mm and 40S&W because it's so cheap. Honestly, I expected it to be dirty and was crossing my fingers that it would prove reliable. I was happy to discover that it's both reliable and very clean. Of course I don't know if that would translate to 45ACP, but I wouldn't hesitate to give it a try.

    Different experience than some:
SB is by far and away my favorite 45 for practice. Certainly on my Colt Gunsite CCO's which are light the SB offers the lightest recoil.
Going back a decade their 9mm was a favorite until I moved to 124 and could not find any.
Overall SB is my first choice for factory ammo. Note: all my friends complain about reloading SB as they group around me fighting for the brass.

Have shot SB, Magtech, Blazer... All worked fine for range. No reliability issues. Can't speak for velocity.

As far as I remember S&B, Magtech and MEN are made by the same company CBC Ammo Group located in Brazil

All of the S&B that I've ever shot has been from the Czech Republic, though they obviously could have a new production arrangement.
