    Which light for rifle (100yds+)?

I used my old TLR1 at a night match the other day, and at 50yds I could just barely see the targets. Are there any lights with a more focused beam designed for rifle shooting that will reasonably identify targets at 100yds+?

Small size, lightweight, reliability, low heat, and low cost would all be good qualities, but I imagine most of those are mutually exclusive.

M600 has a rather tightly focused beam

TLR HP does as well with a giant head

X300u is pretty good balance if using medium range as well

Some of the higher lumen but less focused options like the TLR HL might work as well

Some great YouTube videos comparing beam angle and throw

Something like this if the + is important to you.

    If size is more important.

For a stock light, the Eagletac S200C2 is definitely a good option.

Note that the beam distance listed for this, and almost all other lights, is with the light on target down to .25 lux. This is nowhere near bright enough to be useful in anything but ideal conditions with a highly reflective target.

I totally agree, that's why my S200C2 has a VN at the end.

You will love it. It is a mini-beast of a thrower. I am contemplating sending mine back for some upgrades. Picked it up in 2014, so there are some new options available. Currently it has the XPL-L2 U3 led with PDT option, dedomed and a 5.5 amp 4-mode driver. As it is, it is a mini light saber.

I was going to provide further info, but got busy with other things.

Vinh is an individual that modifies flashlights for increased performance. The names of his lights end with vn.

His typical mods include different emitters, boosts to stock drivers, custom drivers, better heat sinking, improved springs and wiring, etc. He modifies a significant range of lights, from very small pocket lights to ones that make a 2D Maglite seem truly petite.

His website is located at https://skylumen.com/

It is a flashlight modified by a very good and established guy named Vinh Nguyen. All the lights that he mods have the factory model number and VN added at the end of it. Most who order his lights, pay the extra $5 to have his insignia of "V54" engraved on the light to signify it is no ordinary light and is special. You can usually find comparisons of beam shots of his lights on YouTube or his forum.

His website is Sky Lumen. Here is the S200C2 link on his site:

There are some killer lights that he mods. Some are absolutely ridiculous.

The options might be confusing for someone not really into flashlights (flashaholic). Email Vinh if you have any questions, he is a good guy and will answer anything you need answered. I will try to answer anything you need also and I am sure grizzman will be willing to help too.

Edit: Grizz beat me to it.
