FN15 Tactical II VS Colt CCU

ETA: Let's try to specify on the build/quality differences between FN and Colt; although any and all input is more than appreciated and welcome!

    Thoughts?

I imagine they are of equal quality, with basically the rollmark being the biggest difference as well as the hammer forged FN barrel. I do want and like that FN rollmark. Since the Troopers (already got one) are basically sold out for any good deal, I figure I might as well drop an extra hundred bucks and grab one of these two rifles with my tax return.
Also considering the FN DMR because I really love 18'' rifle length gas.
Not interested in building another franken gun right now.

The CCU or Tactical, which ever is in stock. They’re both good guns and thinking about it anymore than that is a waste of time. I see no reason to buy an 18” barrel rifle either. Minimal performance gain for noticeably less maneuverability.

I would go with the Colt simply because of the price. I do however like that Hodge Defense handguard on the FN

Fn tactical and colt ccu are equal in cost.

The dmr it's just an odd ball that I've been eyeing. But the main part of this discussion is just FN verse Colt

FN doesn't stake their castle nuts, if that matters to you.

I read on another forum that FN had separate production lines for their military contract guns and their commercial guns because the contract prohibited using the TDP for their commercial guns. Supposedly, only the military guns were built to the TDP. I don’t know if that’s true or not.

The rifles FN makes for the .gov I are all built to TDP. Per their contracts they cannot build rifles with the TDP for commercial sale.

Why would Colt be able to and FN not be able to?

Isn't the TDP public information now anyway?
