Anyone ever have to replace the electronics on an RMR?

I made a stupid assumption and didn't use a sealing plate on my RMR'd Glock. It was pouring yesterday while I was shooting, so you can see where this is going. Just curious if anyone has ever sent their RMR back to Trijicon and needed all of the electronics replaced, if that's even possible. Really didn't see much searching on Google.

Why don't you try what they do to cellphones. Put it in uncooked rice, Google it.

    Agreed on this method.

I assume you have researched the RMR warranty or called Trijicon CS to see what is the best/worst case scenario.

Didn't think of the rice thing, I don't know why. I'll give that a shot. Haven't contacted Trijicon yet since it just happened over the weekend. I'll be in touch with them today, was just curious if anyone could give me an idea what to expect since I'm sure it'll be awhile before I get any info from them.

If you haven't already, I wouldn't turn it on until you've tried the rice thing and I'd remove the battery.

It’s been a while since I’ve had mine off, not due for battery change till December, but aren’t the electronics potted in place? If so you may have fried the battery, but the rest should be ok.

There's a small gasket outlining the bottom of the RMR, I think you're fine as long as there was adequate contact with the surface of the milled area.

If you get it back up and running, let me know as I believe I have a couple of spare plates laying around.

You can also try silica cat litter if the rice isn't getting it dine.

Here are some pics. Water was definitely the issue, we'll see how the rice does after about 24 hours. I don't have high hopes but I held off on contacting Trijicon for now. I also already ordered a plate, thanks though.
