Federal .38 Spcl Micro HST interesting application...

Anyone know if this will feed and function in one of those 1911's set up for wadcutters? The length looks like it would work.

Possibly but why. Those pistols only held 5 rounds. As for using this ammo in a revolver every tried to reload full wadcutters with a speed loader or even moon clips. Not easy let me tell you. I see no reason for this load at all.

I was simply thinking that if someone had one of those guns already, it would open up more options.

I was unaware that there were any 1911's made for .38 special. Or did I read it wrong?

Not many, extensively modified, special mags, competition guns.

Also at least a few S&W semi auto pistols were done similarly.

S&W had the model 52. It was essentially a model 39 set-up for 38 spl wad cutters. I have never had the pleasure of shooting one, but have heard they were very accurate.

That is interesting. I had never heard of one.
