Barbie has just rolled out a new hijab-wearing doll as the latest addition to*Mattel’s “Shero” program.”
The doll is modeled after American-Muslim Olympic fencer, Ibtihaj Muhammad, who made history as
*the first American athlete to compete in the Olympics wearing a head scarf
Ibtihaj Muhammad said in a statement: Thank you @Mattel for announcing me as the newest member of the @Barbie Shero family! The Barbie Shero Program recognizes women who break boundaries to inspire the next generation of girls
Lets break this down, shall we: Shero is defined by Websters Dictionary as a
woman who is regarded as a hero
What boundaries were broke? Many American women have participated in the Olympics, many woman of color have participated in the Olympics, many American both man and woman, black or white have won the Bronze medal before Ibtihaj.
The article describes Ibtihaj Muhammad to: "who made history as the first American athlete to compete in the Olympics wearing a head scarf". - Wow! And I thought Michael Phelps 28 Gold medals was history.
Wikipedia cites: Muhammad was
defeated by Cécilia Berder of France in the second round in the Women’s Individual Sabre in the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Summer Olympics.[6][21] Despite the loss, she attracted significant media attention.
So one has to ask: Ibtihaj is a "shero" for what? Losing a championship to this French woman:

Losing the Gold and Silver Olympic medal to a Russian and a Ukrainian woman?:

Taking 3rd place and bringing home the distinguished and most prized, cherished and celebrated Bronze Metal?:

No, she is a Shero for simply being the first "American" to wear a head scarf to compete at the Olympics. The article did NOT even mention that she won a medal in the Olympics but only give her credit for wearing a head scarf. That's liberals for you!!! Case in point: “Ibtihaj Muhammad has challenged every stereotype — which to me is the definition of a modern American woman,” Glamour’s Editor-in-Chief, Cindi Leive,*said in a statement.
"Challenged every stereotype"? Hardly a challenge, every Muslim women wears a head scarf!! How many stereotypes are there against Muslim women?
Bronze Olympic medalist and will forever be known as the first American to wear a head scarf while competing in the Olympics. SAD!!!
