What do you think? Will one eventually stand alone or will the two attachment systems live alongside M1913 until the next best thing comes out?
The only "War" was between fanboys on internet forums. The various vendors and industry professionals that I tend to listen to kept it very civil.

BCM's decision was not recent, their release of an MLOK product was. If you dig through the forum you'll find an old thread where BCM poked Magpul for not returning their communications because BCM was looking into producing MLOK in addition to their Key Mod line. The communications between both companies was very respectful with no animosity.

I do believe that the industry will slowly converge on one format due to simple economics. IMHO both vendors and consumers don't want to have stock multiple non-compatible mounts, rails and other accessories if they can avoid it. Consumers will gravitate towards one and vendors will quietly discontinue support for the system that doesn't sell.

Are you saying Crane's test results were bought?

I have two Keymod and two MLOK rails. I thought that MLOK was going to be so much better but mounting Keymod stuff is easier. I'll still buy MLOK going forward, but I really don't see a huge advantage to it.

I love my MLoK rail and I think the Socom testing definitely placed it as the frount runner. If it is popular with certain groups of the military the industries typically follow. I like my MLoK rail a lot but can’t say anything bad about keymod, I never used it.

With that said who is to say they don’t take the data from that testing socom did and then release V2 that corrects the issues. I don’t think the war of rails is over but ever evolving

This for me, I have both, I like both, but I find mounting is easier for Keymod for me. Seams less of a hassle.

I will keep buying both, depending on durability, cost, and the "look" that I'm going for.

I have two BCM KMR. A 15" original magnesium alloy and a 9" Alpha handguard. I love everything about them, lightweight, thin and the quality.

I also have ALG Defense EMR V1M-LOK handguard, I love everything about them, lightweight, thin and very budget friendly and high quality.

I have a couple of MagPul handguards as well, so I have more Mlok then Keymod, but I prefer the keymod just alittle, as I think attaching the accessories are easier.

I also have some old school picatinny rail, I like them, but they are much heavier, and "fat".

I like the choices, and since I'm "invested" in all three systems and I don't tend to switch accessories much from one rifle to another, I just get whatever accessories I what for that particular setup in whatever system (rail) I used for that build.

You really think that there was a conspiracy against your beloved keymod? And Magpul put big bucks into making sure their open-source design did better in testing, despite them GIVING IT AWAY? The tinfoil hat is strong with you.

He comes along to every thread comparing the two spouting such nonsense. He says if a keymod fails it's because the user is stupid. He calls himself "an early investor" in keymod, but leaves the part out where it's all emotional investment.

Have Keymod on Colt's and KAC's. MLOK on a Sionics. Like Keymod better; also find it easier to use. Hilarious to me when the "dick look" of Keymod comes out.

If you are seeing dicks everywhere...as Seinfeld said, I believe, "Not that there's anything wrong with it."

Future rifles will have Keymod as well.

Had Vltor/BCM initially released keymod accessories with the BCM reverse thread nuts that they come with now, most of the install issues would've never happened.

Of course there's a format war. Crane tested Keymod vs. M-Lok. That's about as format-war as it gets. And you know who wins? Consumers.

Ultimately, a third standard may emerge as superior, or M-Lok with modifications to the standard might get adopted, or maybe M-Lok will get adopted, or maybe nothing at all changes.

It's absurd how much vitriol there is between fanboys on both sides. They both make for awesome handguards.
