Complete COLT lower castle nut alignment

I just picked up a brand new complete COLT lower from brownells that I am planning to SBR. While inspecting, I noticed the castle nut seems to be slightly off from being perfectly concentric with the end plate. If I had to guess, I would say the outside diameter of the nut isn’t perfectly round-- but that's not an issue i've ever really heard of before

Anyway, I’m wondering if this is something that’s somewhat common from COLT and no big deal? Or, would this be a sign of some other problem with the lower?

It's more likely that the endplate is slightly askew since there is quite a bit of wiggle room where the endplate is located on the receiver extension. It's like that on my Colt, BCM, and Noveske. Don't sweat it. Build, shoot, and enjoy!

The nut isn't out of round... What 3_AE said. (non-issue)

Typical Colt quality control but it's probably nothing to worry about. The excuse the fanboys use is.... It's not a show horse.

Send it back. Buy a S&W, Bushmaster, PSA, DD, etc.. and then you can learn how to do it yourself. Or just leave it until it comes apart and then fix it.

The staking doesn’t look like normal Colt Staking to me, anyone else noticed this? Could just be me.

    Haha! Nice.

Looks like an assembled Lower. I don't see anything wrong, whatsoever.

@GH41: what the hell are you going on about?
