    Holland Build

I'm slowly getting into clone builds, but try to be a little different. Not having a 22LR trainer in my collection, I decided to put something together. I'm sharing my LMT lower at the moment until I complete my A1 lower. I also have some extra parts on their way and eventually more paint.

    Compass Lake Engineering 22LR kit:
Douglas barrel, Recon profile (17" with chamber), 1-16tw
M-261 conversion bolt w/ magazine adapters

    Colt A3 upper
Badger Ordnance MK12 gas block w/ random used gas tube
Allen Engineering brake w/ long collar
PRI Gen III rifle length tube
    PRI Gas Buster charging handle
    PRI Recce rail
    Nightforce ultra light mounts
    Leupold Mark 4 3.5-10x40
Harris HBRMS w/ KMW Pod Lock, mounted on ARMS #32 mount

I didn't have the patience to take pictures of parts as I went. It's like Christmas morning every time I get a part in the mail. I'll rip open the package and start messing with things. Hell, when it came time to put it together, I was so excited, I forgot to tighten the vise and dropped the barrel and upper. I marred up the finish on the brake and barrel. It is stout and everything is fine. I didn't lose my shit (too much).

I brought it to a private range to test fire on Sunday. 25yd indoor range was cheating, but I needed to dial in the scope. When the winds decide to calm down, I'll bring it out to the public range to test out more ammo and push it further.

$1860 for the upper. I was able to save a few bucks finding stuff used.

PRI 80% lower that I sent to a laser engraver. Aluminum.

Black Friday deals were too tempting. I just ordered the parts to complete my lower.

    Geissele SSA-E
ALG lower parts kit w/ grip
    ALG receiver extension
    Brownells H2 buffer
    Brownells end plate
    Ergo castle nut
    CMMG ambi safety

I acquired a faux 12th model/AEM5 suppressor to complete the look. In Hawaii we cannot have suppressors, so this is the next best thing for my clone build.

I tried to find one a few years ago for my SPR. I contacted AEM, but they wouldn't do it. I contacted MSTN, but Mr. Grant said the guy that made them passed away. Luckily there was someone on the other forum that made a bunch not too long ago. I tried contacting the person, but he stopped replying. I asked around and someone offered to sell their's.

And I switched to a CTR stock.

I ended up buying a Brownells blemished A1 lower. I filled in the right side fire control markings with epoxy.

Mostly complete for now. I will apply more colors whenever I get around to buying more paint.

Very nice. The rifle and the shooting.
