    Armalite Replacement Barrels-Best to Worst

Looking to replace barrel on Armalite DEF-10 and will have need of a 22" med profile in 6.5 Creedmoor.

Recommendations? Top tier come in around $600 with fitted bolt (Kreiger), but what other options that would be around $400 or less and not be a complete tomato stake? Armalite seems to be the redheaded step child...

Criterion would be worth looking into. Ballistic advantage is also a really good value

Wilson barrels? Haven't confirmed but possibilty of a 100 item order minimum? Many builders use them so an individual can hopefully order one, good prices,

I have heard some good things about the Wilson barrels for the price. Check out JSE Surplus they carry a lot of Wilson barrels and offer them in 308 http://www.jsesurplus.com/ar308.aspx

My first choice would be a Lothar Walther and then Criterion. The LW on my T has been simply amazing....

I might be interested in the same thing.

What kind of groups are getting with original barrel?

I just put a 2.5-7 Leupold on mine. A2 handguards. Was shooting to 200 yds off a sandbag with factory ADI 165 gr jsp (Grand Slam bullet) I got a 5 shot and 10 shot groups of 3 moa from the warm barrel. After zeroing.

Cold barrel it will 5 shots just over 2 moa.

Actual match ammo may do better but...perhaps not?

Anyway I'm interested it what it takes to accurrize the def10.

in case you were talking to me...The last time my friend ordered one it was Armalite pattern unless you asked differntly regardless what was stated on the site. I didnt think $65 was too far away from OPs stated price. In fact I felt it was a duty to let him know about since LW's quality is outstanding! Not to mention he is going to be limited to Armalites barrel extension so he may not even be able to get a $400 barrel.

Appreciate the input gents! Considering the limits on the Armalite pattern I'll probably seek an upper level quality barrel as my bolt guns have worn Kreiger tubes and accuracy has been world class.
