Rain jacket - quiet, waterproof, not made overseas?

Hooded jacket: Quiet, windproof, waterproof, not made in slave factories - does it exist?

I suppose I can go for water 'resistant' if it's absolutely necessary.

Outdoor Research Infiltrator. If you quality for their Pro Purchase program, the pricing is much more palatable.
If plan A didn’t work, the alphabet has 25 more letters.

I had a hard time finding info about OR's country of origin, all I managed to find was that they have a Seattle factory where they make Berry compliant articles for the DOD such as gloves. I take it they have moved production of more items back home then?

edit: nevermind, found the different entries in their catalog. Only a 50 dollar markup for the USA made item? It boggles the mind why people would buy the slave factory item.

OR's tactical line is usually made CONUS and according to Tactical Distributor's page, the Infiltrator jacket is US-made. But I'm pretty sure the rest of their civie line made OCONUS.

I have a TAD gear raptor and it is nice. Very light, easy to pack and H2O proof. Not cheap but.....buy once cry once.

Which gloves just curious? I have their Ironsight gloves but they are not made in the USA.

The GORE-TEX® inner layer will keep you dry and protected during rough conditions, while the polyester face fabric will let you move silently through the terrain.
Sounds like a terrible compromise. The face fabric will wet out rather quickly and compromise the breathability of the gore underneath. Sure it will keep the outside wetness from getting in but you will quickly get soaked underneath by your own sweat.

I don't expect any kind of breathability. Waterproof, quiet, breathable - pick any two. Having all 3 in one garment is, at this point, science fiction.

On another note it turns out that the Goretex line I linked is not made in Turkey after all, but China like everything else. A disappointment.

Check out Beyond. They have USA-made, Berry compliant clothing. Be prepared to pay, though.
