    .224 Bullet ID - 87gr?

    Hey all,

Occasionally, when the prices are low enough, I order from a company that sells pulled bullets. Recently I ordered some 77gr SMK's and there were a few odd size bullets in the mix. After weighing them, they were all 87gr and measured 1.05 in length. Searching I couldn't find any reference to a 224 bullet of that weight, only a 6mm Vmax I think it was. Any ideas?

    Cheers.

I considered that. Interesting that they were all 87 in weight with the exception of one that was 87.2. Would have thought they would be all over the place. Anything is possible I guess.

Didn't Powell river Labs make an 87 grain bullet a million years ago? tungsten/tin core, copper jacket? I don't think they're even still in business anymore.
