    QD alloy light mount

    I'm looking for a quick detachable alloy light mount that allows for quick removal of the light from the mount. It will be going on a picatinny rail. Would like to keep it under 70 bucks or so if possible.

    Most mounts I can think of require loosening threaded fasteners to get the light out of them.

    If you meant mount and light off the rail:

    Several places have variations of Weaver top mount rings like this also that are usually at least partially aluminum.

    It is a bit above your budget, but the quick detach version of VLTOR's SM-O allows for the light to be removed from the mount when the latch is loosened. The latch can then be tightened if it's desired for the mount to remain attached to the rail. The standard release model may work in the same way, but I can't confirm it.

    Elzetta's ZROC uses separate thumbscrews for the picatinny and light attachment, so it will also do exactly what you wish. For lights with a diameter smaller than 1", it uses plastic inserts that aren't exactly easy to use, so I use it exclusively with 1" lights. It seems to have been discontinued, but it's still available and currently on sale from Rainier Arms for $45.

    This one works well, I line the inside of the rings with electrical tap for a better grip on the light and to protect its finish;
