    ? on Headstamp S&B 9mmM

Whomever was shooting before me, didn't retrieve all of his brass. Therefore I was sorting his & mine, when I came across the following:

    Headstamp

    12 o'clock S & B
    4 o'clock 15
    8-6 o'clock 9mmM

    Brass length .705

    Any ideas?

There is also something associated with S&B named municionfabriq<sp> I know I butchered that but you get the idea.

I have ad blockers so don't see them.

At least one old box of S&B ammo...The writing on a couple

    Pistolenpatronen 9mm M 22 (I) --- marked SB 24

9 mm scharfe Patronen M 22 --- not marked SB
    (Pist.Patr.)

    They are both from 1940
    Both have Pulver M 27

    One box has...
    Patrh: P 90 D 10 L 40
    Gesch: P90D11L40
    Zdh P90D99L40

Other box has Gesh and Zdh with 1943 so those have to be date codes

All three box pictured have the number 24 at top. One actually has SB 24.

So a German factory #24 and perhaps yours was from a German factory #15 ??

The "M" seems to be some sort of German marking used on many labels and such. A third box for instance has...

    Pulver: M 27 Smt. 1940/4

    ----
    ETA:
    NATO NATION CODES
    (15) Italy
    (16) Czech Republic
    (12) Germany -- they used the "Munitionsfabriken" wording.

"M" is also associated with Musgrave - South Africa and Marieberg Sweden -- both seem like a stretch.
