    Current Tax System
    You'd save $0

    House Plan
    You'd save $2,018

    Senate Plan
    You'd save $2,151

My wife and I make a combined 85k a year, which is decent money for West Virginia. I consider us middle class. Thanks for posting the link.

Not detailed enough for me since I work in transportation industry and currently have a DOT deduction of $63/day for travel expenses which adds up. Not sure if that will be retained for those of us who travel for a living.

Holy crap. The calculator can’t be right. I might actually get something back for once in over 25 years. That won’t last, they will cock it up before passage.

I'd save 1900 on the house plan, 1600 on the senate.

    Two observations -

    1) I never believed Reaganomics worked. If anything Governor Brownback's version of Reaganomics, his 'Plan for Kansas' should serve to put an exclamation point on that sentiment for everyone. I've heard this plan referred to as 'Brownback Lite.'

    2) I'm paying less, taxes, your paying less taxes, corporations are paying less taxes, but fvck, the DOD didn't just miraculously become less expensive, nor did any other part of the federal government. Our debt is already at 106% of GDP, so how are we going to make any headway? Who is making up the difference? Don't give me this 'economic incubator, jump starting the economy' bullshit, see observation one - does not work.

Hey, I don't want to pay more taxes, heck, I don't want to pay as much as I have been paying, much less more. But damn, we need to start turning the debt to GDP ratio around.

Where the hell are the grownups? There has to be a better way.

    explain that to me?

I will be paying more taxes under this plan because I lose a lot of my deductions...and I live in a zero income tax state. I make over 100k, but under 500k...

Exactly. Too many votes being bought with taxpayer funded money. Whoever is in office sure as hell isn't going to vote to take it away as they know they'll lose votes which will cost them their cushy line their pockets job as "representative".
