9mm AR. How many rounds before too dirty?

They are nasty things to clean. Seems like the lower gets pretty well packed with carbon. Has anyone shot one without cleaning until failure? 5.56 guns get through a thousand rounds typically. Double that, if you drop some oil in the BCG periodically. Can't imagine 9mm getting to half that.

If i shoot 200 or more rounds a session with typical factory ammos, then I at least field strip and clean. I have been using Winchester WinClean series of late and it really minimizes the gunk. I have shot the 90, 115, 124 and 147 grain rounds and only the latter had failure to feeds now and then. This is in a 1995 Colt 6450 and a new Colt 6951 with Colt or Metalform magazines...

I've switched my 6951 to grease. Drop the bolt into an ultrasonic when I can. Add more grease if I can't.
    So far no major issues.

QC10 Glock lower with 8.5 inch upper begins to stumble around 250 rounds.
Usually filthy brass at 50 rounds. Squirting in some oil may prolong the period between cleanings slightly.

I have a QC10 lower and bolt with a 10' PSA upper and I have ran at least 2500 rnds through it and have only wiped out the lower once.
    Haven't had an issue.

I shoot USPSA with my colt 6951. It gets cleaned once a month, the night before the monthly match. I practice at least once a week sometimes twice, each practice I run 200-300 rounds through it depending on the drills I'm focusing on. It gets dirty for sure but even at 2000 rounds it runs with out issues. With that said I due lube the bolt every practice session.
