    ID'ing a Colt Barrel?

    .

I purchased a barrel at a local gun show believing it to be a Colt barrel based on that little “C” seen in one of the pictures.

It is missing a few markings that I’ve seen on other Colt barrels, such as high pressure testing and mag particle inspection but it has some common Colt markings.
The pictures below are the only markings I could find.

    - Does anyone recognize if this barrel is really a Colt?
    - Would someone maybe have the history or data used to ID it?
    - Why does it not have the other Colt barrel markings?

    Thanks

    Maybe it’s just me…

Is it a normal M4 barrel?

It could be from one of those Expanses or one of them Colt Competition Rifles that were Colt in Name Only. They weren't Hartford guns.

I don't believe it is. That C most likely means chrome-lined. A picture of the entire barrel would be nice.

In one of the pictures, I read somewhere that the "C or G with the dot in the center" (or whatever that stamp is) in front of the index pin was indicating Colt chrome lining??
It is supposed to be a SOCOM pattern barrel.
I'll get a picture of the whole barrel up in a minute.
    Thanks

Ive never seen a Colt mil-spec barrel with that kind of profile. Also SOCOM profiles have an M4 step in front of the gas port and a cut out under the handguards.

I stared and stared. The barrel sure looks bent to me.

ETA: got a pic. How do I post it?

Me too. Maybe an illusion because of the bent tape measure? Hopefully OP didn't buy a bent barrel.

Haha I thought it looked strange when I first looked. Its probably just the camera's lens.
