Muh self policing. Muh worrying about government regulations that those sworn to enforce probably don’t even know how to enforce.

I finally got the strut pin out tonight. The thing was in there so tight that I had to use my 20-ton press to get it started out. It made a loud pop when it started to move. I then broke two punches getting the pin the rest of the way out. There's no way the pin will fit through the new hammer, so I just left it out as suggested. The Z-43P is now back together. If it works with the Promag magazines, then I'll send off my Form 1.

I test fired the ProMags in the Z-43P today using 70rds of PPU 55gr FMJ and 20rds of PPU 62gr FMJ steel core. It ran 100%. Now all I have to do is fill out the Form 1 and wait...

Update 06/04/18: Mailed off the Form 1.

The wait for the government to approve me to exercise my Constitutionally guaranteed right is over. I received the approved Form 1 back yesterday. Here it is in all it's glory.

Nice. I have one in the safe on my "to do" list.

Wow, that's pretty cool. I don't post much, but that's worth a post!

Thanks. I shot it and it ran 100% with the 20rd, 30rd, and 40rd Promags. It’s a heavy beast and got hot with the thin hand guard.

When I shot my Z-43P, a plug in the front sight kept falling out when I shot it. What's the purpose of this plug? Does it matter if I just leave it out since it didn't seem to impact the function of the rifle?

That cocking tube cap replaces the bayonet lug cap. They make a version that used a screw to retain it rather than a spring loaded detent.

That's funny, mine fell out recently too. I couldn't find it, and had to buy a new one. What was interesting was when that plug with the threaded hole behind it fell out. Apparently it is a cosmetic addition to bridge the gap between the cocking tube, which for some reason they make short, and the front sight post.

Since it's just extra weight with no function over cosmetics, I left mine out, but it looks a bit odd without it.
