Range Hacks

Don't want to denigrate your rack hack, but when shooting at a public range with my AR, I just use an old t-shirt and drape it over my scope. It hangs over the ejection port and does the job. Doesn't really work for a RDS though, too short.

i use 3M adhesive spray to attach my paper targets to the cardboard backer now. i like it much better than the staple gun.

And you leave a mess for the next shooter behind, unless you remove the glued on target entirely before you leave. Maybe you do.

Same idea but I use an old baseball cap. It works with a RDS as well...................

The range I go to has target stands with 1x1 post that cardboard gets stapled to. Not sure how that leaves a mess for anyone??

So how do you drape the baseball cap so you're not covering the lenses?

I tend to scavenge these ad signs people suck in the ground at nearby intersections (typically the antigun politicians post elections) and slap my target on them.

Probably snapping the adjustable back around the mount so the optic sits above it.

For myself, I use a actual brass catcher. Good at the bench. But even better for drills alone downrange when you don’t want to pick up random brass all over the field.
