Leupold range finder
My older Rx -IV is on its way back for service repair, or replacement...
How are the newer Leupold range finders if they can't fix it and offer me a new one?

Last time I played with one was about 2 years ago. It was OK. Nowhere near as powerful as the Leica I ended up buying.

I had an 880(?), I believe, a few years ago. It worked fine within ~500 yards but I needed something with more range. I know you didn’t ask for advice on other brands, but I went with a Leica 1600-B and it’s been awesome. You can often find nowadays for about $500 as they’re being replaced with the 2000 model.

I’ll echo “get a Leica”.
Mines several years old, cost a bit more than a comparable Nikon/Leupold, but easily ranges over 900 yds in bright sunlight.

I started my research with Leupold, but ended up with a Leica. I've been very happy with it.

Really no surprise that Leica makes a better range finder. As a general rule the optics from Leica are the standard. Yes, I used microscopic intsruments for many years in my education and early careers.

My Leupold rxIV worked ok up to 800 yards. I liked how compact it was. It was packed with many features. Too many features. It became too easy to get lost. I believe that it really worked well in a bowhunters world. Most of the users on line are bowhunters for this model.

Haven't heard a peep from Leupold since I sent in the range finder for repair. Just received a tracking label update from them. I am curious what shows up later this week.

Thank you Leupold!

Not sure why picture rotated. Can't fix it either. Sorry...
