    This is right.

In practice, my red dots are actually 50m zero (some are 50yd), and I just confirm on steel at 200.
Optics with BDC are, for the most part, 36yd initial and 100yd fine tune.

Realistically, I change which ammo I care about too frequently, or just leave a zero in place since I end up making such small adjustments I don't feel it's worth anything other than confirming.
    Also, I'm lazy.

I do 50/200 for my irons, and my cheap 1-4x is set for a 100 yd zero because that's how it was designed. It has BDC holdovers, and I can confirm that the 200 yd dot is right on at 50 yds, but I haven't had the opportunity to try 200 yet.

For me, 50 yards. With that zero I know exactly where my dot (and my irons) need to be from 10 feet to 600 yards.

My $0.02..... 50yrds for RDS and Irons. 100 yrds for traditional optics. And BDC optics as per manufacturer.

100y on an ACOG, and 25y for the RMR that sits atop the ACOG.

I don't even know what all of those are but 25/300 sounds like a safe bet.

50 yards for irons/red dot. It seems like a very practical zero for my needs and while I can easily make hits on targets at 100 with both, I don't feel my eyesight is good enough to actually zero at that range.

My two rifles are both setup for CQB, so I went with 50/200 for each. They both have 11.5" barrels, Daniel Defense irons, and Aimpoint T-1's. The only difference being one wears a flash hider, and the other wears a compensator and suppressor. My bolt action rifle is another story...

50/200 for me as well. Have used it for years, have all the impacts both close and far memorized. My range goes to 200 so i am always able lot check it as well which is nice.
