    50 Meters.

Years ago I used to like 100; I thought it was better for the urban areas. Then I preferred 200, because I got a little smarter. Now I like 50, and MPBR is shorter with short barrels, longer with long barrels.

Edit: PCC is zeroed at 25 yards.

    I'm lazy.

I zero for 100 @ 25 using a modified target then confirm/fine tune @ 100. Saves me some steps in the sugar sand on our plinking range.

I read the 'Zen of the 100 Yard Zero' and adopted that for a while, then decided that for my purposes it really was a toss up between 100 and 50/200.

I stayed with the 100 simply because of the BDC on several of my optics.

My apologies for the tangential sidebar there. Suffice it to say, I definitely agree with not overthinking things.
Yes many are known to over-analyze here but then again that's sometimes how progress is made. Just try to stay in the middle and pay attention.

Meantime you have nothing to apologize for whatsoever and seem like a smart fellow.

Iron sights and red dots are at 50/200. My 20" scoped rifle is 100 yards. The 20" is my testing platform.

50/200 for BUIS and RDS. ACOG's obviously 100 (per Trijicon specs).

I live in the land of rolling hills and dense pine thickets. Seldom does a shot greater than 200 present itself in my immediate area. So, 50/200 covers me nicely. Simple.

I use 100 yards for LPV’s, red dots and irons. 200 yards for long-range guns with higher power magnification.

100 for the last couple years, no issues.

50 meters on my carbines / red dots and 100 meters on my 4-12x scoped 20". At times the scoped 20" feels like a crew-served weapon (lol). Two carbines have lasers at 25 meters (that I actually use) for a night time varmint option.
