Looking for a dimple jig to use with a variety of gas blocks. Seems like the ones I find are specific to bcm vltor etc..

Haven't tried one, but looks like it should work.

Not to sound snooty... but who needs a jig? Just dimple it. I've done some with a hand drill... before I had a drill press.

I agree with MarkM. If you insist here is an inexpensive good quality one: http://slrrifleworks.com/index.php?r...product_id=579
I use Geissele gas blocks, their instruction for installation w/o a dimple jig are straightforward and simple. I've posted them before in other places, you can adapt the drill bit size to whatever size set screw your gas block needs:

I bought the dimple jig from SLR and I have had very good results with it. It's relatively inexpensive, and very easy to use.
Another vote for the SLR jig, very easy to use and a good price. One side lines up with your gas port and the other has the drill sleeve to perfectly line up your dimples.

I have the original smooth side BRD .750” jig. But, like Mark, I didn’t struggle to get a perfect dimple with a hand drill before I had it.
The SLR looks great. If you’re using a set screw gas block, there’s just zero reason to not dimple your barrel. Granted, I only create a dimple opposite the gas port.

Another vote for the SLR Jig. I've used mine on three barrels so far with great results.
I actually had an issue with one of the barrels where it was very undergassed. It wouldn't lock back even with a suppressor mounted and the SLR AGB fully open. The company said that I installed the gas block crooked, until I took the gas block off and sent them a picture of a perfect carbon ring around the gas port.
