I didn’t even know you could buy them like that. Every X300 I’ve ever bought has just come with all of the attachments. Don’t think I’ve ever heard someone say that the Streamlight has a better bulb than any Surefire though.

If it works.....don’t fix it.
American Eagle ammo is not the best quality or consistent ammo available. I would not use it to determine the tune of a weapon. I run the same Mod 2 upper with an H2 buffer, see no reason to change.
I run X300 Ultras on picatinny rails, mounted at the 12 o’clock position. They are secure and stabile using the picatinny “P” adapter.

Exactly! I have ran both streamlight and surefire on work guns and have only ever had an issue with the streamlights. This goes for TLR-1's and ProTacs, both of which had failures in the switches and contacts. For my personal weapons I choose to use surefire (x300u and 300 scout), but for work I am issued streamlight. I will say streamlight has had excellent CS.
Like HK said, the P adapter locks it up tight.
Strangely enough a friend of a friend has a pistol he carries with a Surefire X300. During a conversation with him, he told me he liked the surefire but wasn't too keen on the lock up. I asked him if he was using the correct insert/adaptor and I got the deer in headlights look. Sure enough when we removed it and looked at it, he was using the wrong one.

My issue is I have a big plan of being able to switch X300U-A's between my G17's and carbines in case of emergency... So that means keeping the "U" panel in place and occasional loose fit depending on rail.
I am solving that that by slowly upgrading to X300U-B's with the cross bolt on my primary weapons.
Of course after over a couple dozen X200/300 lights and no failures I have no idea why I bother...

Surefire has phenomenal customer service. I had misplaced a rail adapter for an x300-U. I contacted them about purchasing a P rail adapter. They stated they would simply send me a set. They refused to charge shipping. I thought that was amazing service for a small part I simply misplaced or lost. I have continued to use Surefire lights.

Back to the “over gassed” question. I just ran 300 rounds of 193 through my 11.5” Knights Mod 2. I run a Tubbs flat spring and the KAC H buffer. She runs like a top and is smoother than a parts gun with a Mk18 upper.
