Not to the degree an AR does. Despite this, I believe the AR does it better than most 'clean' piston guns.

Super ironic part is that the DI AR is already a piston gun. An internal, integrated, coaxial piston.

Board policy mandates I state that I shoot for BCM. I have also done work for 200 or so manufacturers within the firearm community. I am prior service, a full time LEO, firearm instructor, armorer, TL, martial arts instructor, and all around good guy.
I also shoot and write for various publications. Let me know if you know cool secrets or have toys worthy of an article...

No, he is serious. You just need to frequent some of the derpier forums more. Honest to god. Not being a dick. I've had guys tell me that if you don't detail white glove clean an AR every 100 rounds it will jam up so bad that it is a club. Linked Pat Rogers(God bless that man) Filthy 14 article. Got told that they wouldn't read something that long, and that they were right, ARs were super unreliable and AKs never, NEVER, malf. Also have had it on this forum that at 500 5.56 won't go through paper. While I am on it, had a guy claim that at 500 meters 5.56 was so slow and in effective that he could catch it with his bare hands because it couldn't kill. Guy never took me up on the offer to of a baseball glove and me shooting at him.

Kain is right.
There are people who buy guns just to take pictures of. Like they will drop major coin on a gun and pose it up with props and lighting to show off on instagram or whatever and never shoot it nor read the manual.
They have safes that look like something out of John Wick of pristine guns in different configurations.
Meanwhile I shoot my stuff.
I look at people's brass bumpers as a metric of how seriously I plan on taking them.
