Being 26" in length would make it an other, except that having a stock designed and being intended to be shot from the shoulder squarely places it into the SBR category.

I don't think the trigger has anything to do with it. Nothing in the definition of a firearm says that it must fire on the pull versus release. It doesn't make any difference.

My best guess, black powder/ muzzle loader, or air rifle.

Also the number of Captain America RSOs in many ranges who think they need to be NFA hall monitors are discouraging as well. Ignorance + Authority = a headache..if you're lucky.
See your Captain America and raise Elmer J. Fudd... "Nobody needs more than one round at a time" and all the other AR's-make-them-piss-their-pretty-pink-panties usual BS, and when Elmer J. gets to write the range rules everywhere in your AO...

If you notice nothing in their materials mentioned the caliber or if it's centerfire or rimfire.
If you look up their patent filing from August they filed for a rimfire rifle that doesn't fall under the same scrutiny as a centerfire rifle.

Nice try. But, what you found is their patent for the F17 rifle. Which has been around for a couple years. Not to mention, rimfire rifles do have the same level of scrutiny as centerfire when it comes to SBRs.

OAL requirements and barrel length requirements are the same whether rimfire or centerfire. Perhaps you’re thinking about caseless rifles such as black powder or muzzleloading rifles.

While it was a viable theory, FA came out and said that it has nothing to do with the trigger. Sucks because it seemed like they put a lot of time into making the video you'd linked to.

If the thing fired on "release" of the trigger you still pulled the trigger to get to the point where you have to release it.... So, that whole argument is moot.

BTW, I have to tip my hat to Franklin for getting a lot of hype for their new product.

I'm just hoping that whatever loophole FA has figured out that there's some way that I'll be able to exploit it in order to legally assemble my own short barreled "firearms", but I'm probably getting my hopes up way too high here...
