    Badger 30696 or Nightforce 901?

Also want one piece mount for very accurate DD M 12; have been looking at these two; would appreciate your experiences with or knowledge concerning either!

It's gonna depend on the scope and how you mount the rifle most often.

I have both and either will be a good choice quality-wise.

As GH41 said, it’ll probably depend on your scope. As neither of these mounts are extended, you may run into eye relief issues by not being able to mount the scope far enough forward while still staying completely on the receiver (recommended). I have a NXS 2.5-10x42 in the NF mount and a Mark 6 1-6 in the Badger with no issues (for me, at least).

    That Badger mount is 1.3" high, I don't know what Nightforce mount you're looking for, A 190 is 1.125", a 191 is 1.375".

Everyone's face is different, but either of those is too low for me to get a cheek-weld with. I can squeeze by with a 1.44", but 1.5" and taller is better for me. I use an A221 with my NXS 1-4 and 2.5-10X42. No extended mount needed with those optics.

Previous responder asked, "Which scope?" Plan to use Vortex Viper Gen II 3-15x44 FFP MRAD again. also, who makes Vortex mounts?

    A 191 sounds better!

Why does it sound better?? Because it is a tick higher. That's not even half your problem. If you don't have a shop near you with a good selection of mounts your best bet is to order the cheapest set of inch and a half high rings you can and mock it up with your scope on the rifle. Don't worry about the front ring being on the rail. Just get the scope in the position that works for you. From there all it take is a simple measurement to determine how much cantilever you need.

The height on the BoBro Detachable Extended 30mm Mount is ideal for me; so with the Vortex Viper Gen II 3-15x44 FFP scope, what are best options for non-detachable extended mount? Thanks for your help.

Seekins Precision makes Vortex rings, IIRC. Not sure about their mounts.
