This is correct. The diameter is unusual as it is close to commercial diameter. Bushmaster had a 3-position buffer tube that was used with these stocks. You might say that it was a proprietary buffer tube. IIRC, a commercial buffer tube can be used. The fit will be a bit off. I had one of these stocks a couple years ago and sold it for $25.
