    Yes, you need a second AR because it's impossible to get your third AR without having the second.

    Consider finishing an 80% receiver. That way it doesn't even exist so no matter what happens it is yours forever.

    I'm in the process now of selling my AR's, sold two 6920's and a BCM. Kept a BCM "Jack" Carbine and a PWS AR pistol. For the 4-5 carbine classes' I take a year the single BCM is more than sufficient. I kept the AR pistol just because I like it. I get a lot more utility from my handguns, daily carry and more pistol classes' available than carbine ones. Personally, in terms of utility and 'sport' the two mentioned more than fit my needs. To each his own.

    Didn't have time to read through all 7 pages of posts on this subject to see if anyone mentioned the fact that if you are ever involved in a self defense shooting with your AR it will be confiscated as evidence. I'm at the place where my primary use of the AR-15 (in SBR configuration) is home defense. I won't risk being without so I own several. Can't think of any other weapon I would rather have in the home invasion or multiple adversary scenario.

    Having multiple units for different "missions" is a must in my opinion.

    Like some have said...2 is better than one.

    Get creative, build a pistol or a long range unit...I build for the fun, and to take me back to my military roots. Its enjoyment for me.

    [QUOTE=Firefly;2587365]You understand.

    All I really need at that point is a Chevy Van, a shag carpet, a S&W Model 639, a 4" 686, a 30-06 bolt action and maaaybe a 1300 or a Lever action and I'm gonna go live on a beach somewhere and be like a hippie only lazier.

    Sorry for the hijack...but I had to.
