So you’re crying about defeating the purpose of MLOK, but you don’t like MLOK so you want to switch it to something that will achieve exactly the same endstate, minus the option to easily change it back?

I don't have one. I have a RIS. I wanted to know if the gas block would be too long and stick out, or if it would fit at all. I may not like mlok, but I don't see why I would just leave rail sections on at all times. I like pic rails because the rail sections are one piece with the rail, and then whatever you want is clamped onto that. In my experience it has been considerably more solid using a good quad rail than pretty much anything else.

And YES, it is a flare fitting on the tube. This to me makes way more sense than a pinned tube. A flare fitting is a proven method to withstand large amounts of pressure.

Yes and no. If carbon gets in the threads, it will make removing the AN fitting more difficult. Yes, carbon CAN work its way into the threads. Yes, there are steps that can be taken to prevent this.

The top rail/upper doesn't sit any higher on a KAC than any other AR (unlike say an HK 416)...just how much more clearance does the URX4 have given that some others on the market are rather generous. I always wished KAC were more forthcoming with their dimensions and specs...

I think the point he was trying to make is that the height, width and radius of the Mod 2 gas block will not work with a non URX4 rail. Internal structure of the older rails is the factor that limits the use.
