I’m in the process of streamlining my gun inventory. I currently own a Glock Gen 4 17 with an ALG 6 second mount and Aimpoint T1. I really like the set up, and I intend to keep it. This summer, I purchased a HK VP9 tactical just for kicks, since it was on sale for $650 + 3 mags + 4 free mags from HK. The gun shoots well, but it really doesn’t do anything better or different than my Glock (except maybe a little bit better accuracy and trigger). Likewise, I am not a fan of the VP9’s reliaibility issues when dirt and dust is involved, although it has yet to choke on me.
Regardless, I realize things change when one attach a suppressor to any pistol. HK is known for building good pistols that run well suppressed (MK 23, HK USP tactical, etc). I own a P30, and I love how it shoots despite being DA/SA. I’ve tried it suppressed and it shoots great.
Hence, what do you folks think about the Glock 17 suppressed vs the HK VP9 tactical? If you currently run a Glock 17 Gen 4 suppressed, how do you have it set up? Barrel type and recoil spring? What is the ideal set up? The VP9 tactical is GTG to run suppressed, and all I need is sights. I wish ALG made a six second mount for the VP9.
Thanks
